MessageBird's Flow Builder allows you to forward incoming SMS in various ways. This can be particularly useful if you do not check the MessageBird Dashboard on a regular basis, but do expect to receive SMS from your end-users. Below we will discuss how to set up the following forwarding:
Forwarding your SMS to your mobile phone
To forward your incoming SMS to your own mobile phone, or to any other phone number, open Flow Builder and select 'Create a new Flow'.
Name your flow and choose an SMS as the trigger. Click on 'Next'.
Click on the 'SMS' trigger and select your number
Now add the step 'Forward SMS', and write down the number you want the SMS to be forwarded to. Click on 'Save'. Your flow should look like this:
All set and ready! Just click on 'Publish' to make sure your Flow is active.
Forwarding your SMS to a URL
You can easily trigger a GET or POST request for your own server when your flow receives an incoming SMS. Go to Flow Builder in the Dashboard, and create a new flow using the steps below, or use the template ‘Call HTTP endpoint with SMS’.
Select the phone number you’d like to attach flow to.
Click on the ‘Forward to URL’ Step, and set up the attributes. In ‘Method’ choose between GET or POST request; you also need to type down the URL of your webhook. Click on save when ready.
When you are done building your flow, click on either ‘Save draft’ or ‘Publish’ on the right top of the screen.
Forwarding your SMS to an email
